Last night, Don surprised me with a basket of ribs and sauerkraut that were good for 2 days. Having friends who like to cook is a good thing...
Today, I slept in after a late night of reading and almost immediately had a call from the lobby about a delivery of the stickers I had ordered from RedBubble. For some unknown reason, RB had neglected to include my suite number on the shipping address, so it was fortunate that I was home. I am very happy with the quality of the stickers but I will have to test the colorfastness with Windex to see if they will last on the windshield of my Gio... If not, they will end up on my main windows.
I spotted a homeless couple on the other side of the church parking lot and it was touching to see the female looking after her partner, so I took some long shots with the P1100. We have a real homeless problem in this city with way too many with alcohol, drug or mental problems. It is so sad that obvious locations are available to house these folks, like the abandoned Remand Center, but they are just uprooted from one spot to just reappear in another, of course. Hopefully a new Mayor will do something decent to help these folks. The temperatures are dropping at night to uncomfortable levels.
Then I called Don to come for salad and to watch the Blue Jays, some curling, some soccer, and more baseball....
And I got the news of yet another death in the family. Cousin Philomene was 87 and in bad health for quite a while. The parade to the grave continues for so many of our elderly relatives and friends... That is the price we pay for getting older...
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
