Monday and Tuesday we had very miserable, cool, windy and rainy days. The upside of that is now that green is beginning everywhere, on the trees, grass, etc. Better late than never..
Monday they were supposed to be cleaning the garage where we park from noon until 2pm, so we had to remove the vehicles and scooters into the crappy weather.
There was a slight break in the rain, so I ran to Canada Place's Mister Donair and grabbed a donair to eat and 3 to go... Then I hit the library to drop off 2 books and pick up 3.
The garage cleaners didn't arrive until 4pm and were not done until 6pm which upset a lot of people. The worker said he only had 40 minutes notice to get here... Somebody dropped the ball...
Tuesday was my lovely wife's 56th Birthday. She and niece Ana are going to take a 2-day holiday somewhere nice.
After over a year I decided to peek into the 2 Rubbermaid tubs of my photos that have been languishing in the closet. What a trip down Memory Lane that is, remembering many people and occasions long forgotten. Over Tuesday and Wednesday I went through one tub comprising over 10 years of reminiscing... So many good memories, and many sad ones as we see so many people who have passed on...
Lately my bedtime has been around 1 am and I get up after 11am... Who cares except me???
Wednesday, they had a meeting downstairs with the caterer who supplies the dinner to whom we used to pay $10 for the lunch. I used to go occasionally, but they quit sending me the menu, so I quit going. Now they have bumped the meals to $15 each and they are begging for more support, especially those who will pay $220 a month now for the weekday lunches, and even that price will jump to $250 in October... Really, the meals are not bad, but hardly worth $15 in my book. My biggest problem is that I don't want to have to look presentable after 11am just to eat lunch...
I am quite happy to watch sports and read my books most evenings with a bowl of my famous popcorn...
Wednesday night I bumped my giant drinking jug off my desk and it broke a hole, making a mess in the bedroom and all the way to the kitchen as I tried to minimize the damage. I wasn't very successful and had to spend a lot of time cleaning up. Actually the lemonade turned out to be a good floor cleaner!
So today I decided that I would not waste a gorgeous 22C day and went to Vinnie's Treasure Shoppe for another look at their wonderful stuff. My problem is that I have no space to put anything else of value. Maybe that is a good thing?
Then I went to Dollarama to get a new drinking container and ended up buying a bunch of spontaneous small stuff that I will use, to the tune of $52 worth...
When I returned home, I got mad at my dirty view which is hampered from humidifier film on the inside. I only have 3 windows so it really did not take long and the difference is amazing. The humidifier is for sale...
Bob is always cooking and, on a warm day like this, his apartment that faces South, gets warm in a hurry. I made the decision to give him the mobile air-conditioner that I inherited and that has been clogging my closet for a year. The building wants us to pay an extra $100 a year to use an AC unit, so I don't bother. My apartment faces North and I am accustomed to cooling my place down once the sun goes down.
Time for more of my delicious salad, which I have discovered is extra good when I add "salad toppers", or, better yet "Trail Mix"!
I hope you enjoy the pictures (backwards again). That was the day’s excitement.
