Friday, we had a gorgeous day, not much wind and 12C, so it was t-shirt and shorts weather! My niece by marriage came to visit so we went back to the Unitarian Church garage sale. I would have picked up a few things but then I would have had no place to put them... One was a really decent Radio Flyer wagon, complete with extra wooden rails for $20.. Dawn bought that for herself with a bunch of dishes... Then we went to the Chateau Louis so she could have her daily wine ration.
Saturday morning I ordered some Converse runners with the UK flag on them to be delivered to Cristina directly in Colombia. She thought they could be bought for around $31, when they are only available new for 3 times that price. She hasn't figured out how to order for herself yet.
The hockey playoffs are getting interesting as our Oilers will now face the Canucks. The Leafs gave it their best, but they are back to golfing.
Today, I did not want to get out of bed. No sun, windy again, but 18C,... so I got ready and headed out to Blues On Whyte. I was surprised that Leo was out on the Patio, but they will move inside later. Management had handed out their monogrammed blankets for the ladies to keep warm before I got there.
I stopped at the Wendy's on the south side because I had coupons, and had a nice combo burger meal for under $8.
As I returned here, a group of ladies came out and they were admiring the Gio. I offered for them to take it for a spin and one lady named Kate took it around the building in only second gear and was very tentative, but she loved it.
It is so cool to see the rabbits and squirrels frolicking around our building. I don't see to many birds other than crows and magpies in my viewing area out back.
So, now back to watch hockey and read more of my latest DeMille book about hunting for the Holy Grail in Ethiopia.... It is funny that the last 3 books have been about major poverty trouble spots in the world, namely Cuba, Venezuela, and now Ethiopia... It sure makes me appreciate where we are at present....
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
