Sunday November 1, 2025

I guess it is an indication that not much has happened when I can go a whole week without a Blog, but that is not quite true...

Monday, I made a trip to the Kingsway Mall WalMart because they had my new favourite sunflower seeds in stock.  Unfortunately, they are from China, which annoys me, but they are actually salt-free, which is better for me, since I sometimes go through a whole 260g package in a day..  I found a special, and was able to bring home 32 packages that should last me until I go South.. And, while I was there, I did a little grocery shopping for my veggies..

I then went over to Bob's to photograph some 1970's collectible Barbie items he was given that he hopes to sell for nice coin...  There is a 2' doll stroller and a 28" ski set, all with the proper Barbie markings.  I put them on Marketplace and Kijiji for him at $75 for all, but no bites yet..

I went to Dollarama for a few items, including a large stainless collander for draining pasta...  I had a plan in place..

The whole week has been in anticipation of watching our Toronto Blue Jays tackle the Los Angeles Dodgers for supremacy in the MLB World Series.

Tuesday, I made a large spaghetti stew,... enough for 4 good protein meals which are good for weight loss.  I am plateaued at 200 lbs and I am determined to do better before going to Colombia.

And Tuesday there was a wake in Calgary for my friend Keith Keers at his favourite restaurant, Fleur De Sel.  The timing was 4-6 afternoon so we decided that driving in rush hour both ways, then coming home in the dark would make the trip harsh, so we stayed away.  We may go Nov 14 for a Celebration Of Life, at a better location and a better time.. if some of his family will be there...

Wednesday, a cousin, originally from Falher, posted about a concert here Nov 8 for a French choral group she is a part of, called La Chorale Les Chantamis.  This was a surprise, and I decided to get a ticket for myself, plus put the word out on Facebook and to my 2 French organization contacts as well.

Thursday, another cousin posted for raffle tickets for their Judo club, so I bought a few of those too.  Then I worked on photos most of the day.

Friday, I finally received my Temu order which was 3 days "out for delivery"!!  They honestly expect you to sit around and wait for them to show up, then they do not call, buzz from the entry door, knock, nor ring the doorbell,... and they just dump it at your door,... again...  Grrrrrr

Saturday, was a crazy day for sports, well-spaced so we were glued to our recliner all day...  The CFL had the eastern and western conference semi-finals.  Powerful Montreal beat hated Winnipeg, yeah!!  Then my goofy Stampeders commited grievously stupid time errors to lose the game against the Lions with 26 seconds to go...  I hope that is enough to fire that bonehead coach this time...  The last 2 years have been utterly disastrous.

Then, our Blue Jays in Game 7 against the Dodgers was the hardest to watch.  Frittering away a lead with bad base-running by injured players, stranding multiple base runners virtually every inning, then having the bullpen serve up home-run pitches to lose the game in the 11th inning...  Totally frustrating, ..............after such a promising season, finishing first overall, one game better than the Dodgers...

One heckuva series, wild final game, and a huge disappointment for our whole country...

One side note, during Game 5 at Dodger Stadium, we were shocked to see Prince Harry and wife Megan wearing Dodger colours in the crowd..  I realize that she is American, but Harry...?????

Today, I will give sports a rest, work on photos, and probably finish another Tom Clancy book...

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
