Tom Thumb was visiting in the sunshine this morning so the idea was to try to capture the iridescence of those shiny feathers. While I am not exactly happy with my focus on these photos, hopefully they do give a partial indication of the bright colouring of the Sparkling Violetear.
The fundraiser for Anita is, if memory serves me, to replenish a fund to provide much needed specialized medicine to keep this young lady alive. These drugs are not available through the Ecuadorian medical system so our friend Franny Hogg Lochow had started this fund, aided by Hearts Of Gold.
Several folks, including yours truly, were asked to donate artworks for a sale to replenish this fund. I donated two framed photos, the subjects of which were chosen by Franny.
Then I was asked if I would photograph the event by Franny so I arrived very shortly after the opening so that I could capture all the art before it was sold. There were 4 rooms with varied eclectic art and many people passed through during the day.
Roger and Ricardo of Paladar's supplied the lovely premises and volunteers helped with canapes and sales and wrapping. There also were several persons who supplied musical entertainment which was a very nice touch to the afternoon.
While sales weren't exactly brisk, it is hoped they made enough money for their immediate purposes. The leftover art may hopefully be used soon for further fundraising.
Hope you enjoy the photos. That was the day's excitement, Cheers, Al
