I actually made an effort to get out and enjoy a trip downtown to El Centro although I was slow to get going and the clouds began to roll in.  Regardless, I covered a lot of territory and took some familiar shots that I had missed for a couple of months.
Then I decided to try the same HDR (high dynamic resolution) effect on all the photos to see how we like it or not.  Not every photo will lend itself to HDR which can really bring out a lot of detail and colour on the right one.
Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

Tuesday March 4, 2014

I started the day very frustrated because my fancy LG home theater system would not play my Canadian DVD's because of some regional code installed by the manufacturers in collusion with the Hollywood film distributors.  I went to the Coral Shopping Centre only to find everything closed for Carnaval...

Still frustrated, I got the manual out again to see if I had missed something, but I hadn't, they just don't tell you what you are not supposed to know...  So after much searching online, where they do not list any fixes for my particular model, I decided to contact the LG Support folks online.  When that didn't work I tried my NetTalk before finally using my cel to call the Ecuadorian 800 number and got the confirmation I needed.  Even that gentleman did not tell me everything, but combined with the knowledge I had gleaned online, I was able to reset my machine to accept any region.  Now I am a happy camper.

While I was doing all this I had my tripod set up to capture my buddy Tom Thumb on his frequent visits.  I attached my new 2x zoom converter and am just thrilled with the results.Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al
