Wednesday, after spending all day working on photos I was surprised by Don bringing me enough turkey supper for 2 meals!
Thursday, I had a visit from niece Dawn and we went out for a beer and clamato juice. She and I called our buddy Gustavo on WhatsApp and had a good chat. I tried to give her my ticket to Saturday's game between the Elks and Roughriders (she's a Sask. fan) but she did not want to go alone, so I later gave it to Ross who lives on my floor..
Friday I worked on photos all day again and lent my Bill Clinton/James Patterson book to Don to read.
Ross came by and we watched sports in the evening, football, baseball and hockey...
Saturday I was up to watch our Canadian gals get trounced by a savvy British squad in the wonen's Rugby Championship. I don't know if I will ever understand that weird sport....
And I basically watched sports all day. This is such a fabuous time of year for sports, with baseball playoffs, football, curling, hockey, tennis, MotoGP, Formula 1 and so much more....
Sunday I was up in time to catch my guy, Marc Marquez, win his 7th MotoGP Championship. I became a fan years ago of his fearless and aggressive riding.
Then Manitoba's Matt Dunstone team won the Men's first Grand Slam of Curling event over Scotland, and then my team Homan won the Women's side over Italy.
Next the Toronto Blue Jays made Canada proud by winning baseball's American league Pennant in their division 13-4....
I was called down to play cribbage in the late afternoon and held my own this time. Downstairs I ran into Ross who actually admitted that he did not use the ticket I gave him for the football game... I was upset, but thankful that he was honest about it.
Then we watched the Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3!
So, overall, it has been exciting sports overload, on the winning side for a change.
Of course I read my books while the sports are happening to keep my blood pressure down, lol...
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
