It was t-shirt weather so I picked a place to go and hopped on the Gio.  Someone had mentioned some beautiful immense sculpture of something at the Epcor building, so I headed there.  I must admit that the sight of the huge grizzly bear catching salmon was impressive all right!

Across the road I could see Rogers Place, home of our inconsistent Edmonton Oilers who absolutely blew a playoff game last night, again.  I rode around the place and went in the front doors next to the iconic Wayne Gretzky statue.  You can see some of the photos I took.  They would not allow me to get a peek at the inside arena itself.

Then I rode down Jasper Avenue for another 17 blocks, then came back on 100 Avenue.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.

Saturday, I had 3 deliveries of Temu orders which I distributed to the interested parties.

Then I got asked to help another resident with printing, scanning, and emailing documents.  I don't charge for helping someone with a small task.

Lately I have been invited to Jubilations Dinner Theatre with 5 minutes notice, and to an Edmonton Elks game with a hour's notice.  It pained me to refuse those kind invitations.

Sunday, I needed to get out, so I checked out Whyte Avenue as I used to do and was disappointed that there was no music or dining on any patios anywhere.  So I came home and washed clothes...

I was reminded by Ghyslaine that I needed to stop at one of the Leisure Centres in Edmonton to get my Leisure card.  I was approved already March 18th and I had let it slide.  Ghyslaine suggested that I take the LRT to Commonwealth Stadium Leisure Center, but it was too nice a day to be underground..  Also, I was awaiting another Temu delivery and needed phone reception, so I took the Gio and received my new card.

This was a nostalgia trip too, as I went by the first house I ever owned, which was fabulous in 1978 because we were next to Commonwealth Stadium for the Commonwealth games.  Those were heady times, and we got to see a lot of Edmonton Eskimo football.  Also, my first posting with the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1968 was nearby as well as 2 places where I had room and board.

Then I treated myself to a Harvey's Agus burger meal because I had coupons, and hunger...

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
