I was up during the night to refill the distiller which seems to be now easily giving me a gallon every 5 hours or so. So, right now I have a surplus for the humidifier which I keep on the light night mode to stretch it out.
I got my Notice of Assessment for my income tax and my $$$ actually went down a bit. I took a copy to Roch, the Manager, for calculating my rent for the upcoming year. The parking fees are increasing so I will pay around the same as last year, more or less.
I decided to check possibilities for reasonable lodgings to buy in my easy price range around here, as an option to protect my money from an expected financial crash in the next couple of years. And I actually found a ground floor condo, about the same size that I have now, in a good neighbourhood, spitting distance to a major hospital, and still close to fast food outlets and downtown....
It was supposed to be a repossession, so I was surprised to see that people were still in the suite, and they seemed a touch weird at that. The suite faces the parking lot (groan) and the Northwest (okay). My main problem would be my Gio, which could sit unsafely on my small patio, but far from ideal, especially if I am gone for the winter. I suppose I could pull it inside in that event... Then I would have to pay condo fees, taxes, utilities, insurance, and also use outside laundry facilities..., which would all be quite a bit less than I am paying now... The price is very tempting but keeping the Gio safe is very important. I have to think on it some more... I have to think that owning property would be a better hedge than losing money overnight down the road...
