Yesterday, I met Bob's son Dylan at Bob's bank.  After getting the Manager involved, we found out the payout on Bob's Gio Tron scooter loan was $2,569.  They would not take either my debit or credit cards so I had to run to my bank for a bank draft...  I now own 2 scooters but it is likely that Bernie will buy Bob's from me for that price.

We returned to Bob's apartment and hunted for the keys for the scooter to no avail.  I dragged out, and brought home, the AC unit that I had lent to Bob.  I will pay it forward to Dawn because her apartment faces south.

Dylan called later that he had located one set of scooter keys in Bob's bag at his apartment, so we made an appointemnt to meet again Friday morning.

Cristina messaged me that my #1 dog, Turi, was ill, so she was checked out and required an operation.  Turi was supposedly sterilized in Cuenca, Ecuador but still went into heat regularly, the poor girl...

Our vet John operated on her to find one enlarged and infected ovary and another growth.  We prayed all night for the success and our prayers were answered.  She looks just like her old self again!!

Dawn came down and shared salad with me and then I went out to see a one-hour concert by my favourite Metis fiddler, Darla Daniels.  This girl has so much talent and amazing stage presence and an easy rapport with an audience.  Of course, I bought the t-shirt, the CD and the sticker....

I was going to post a video here, but it is too big for Blogger....  So check it out here...  https://www.facebook.com/reel/1432160968113657

Today, Dawn brought down oatmeal squares made from Mom's recipe..  Again another stroll down memory lane of the good times..

Bernie had a doctor's appointment, so Don offered to drive me to Bob's apartment to meet Dylan.  Dylan had the key to the scooter so we went down to where it was parked in the basement.  I cleaned it off a bit, hit the key and backed out.  I was dressed like Nanook of the North but even the balaclava had trouble protecting my poor forehead with the cool morning breeze at -10C.  I was amazed at how smooth the ride was!!  I really like that unit, but would soon miss my roof and windshield.  Luckily it was only a 13 block ride to park it in one of Bernie's stalls next to mine.  Bernie charged the batteries and filled the tires with the proper amount of air.  He was to let me know today if he was indeed going to buy it.  I am still waiting..

My long-awaited Temu parcel arrived with more silly stuff and gifts.

One of the items I ordered were some cheesecloth bags that I hoped would help eliminate the white dust emanating from my fancy Levoit humidifier...  To start with, I broke down and boiled 2 dutch ovens of water to fill the tank and fired it up on sleep mode, which is supposed to maintain a strict humidity.  The bag would work except that the moisture collects in it and runs down and creates puddles,..... not good....  So I am hoping that the boiled water trick will be enough.

Don came with a huge Greek Salad that he found on sale (he can't resist food sales) and we pigged out on that and fried chicken while watching some curling and the Blue Jays win their season opener..

So, 2 busy days and I am dog-tired...

I hope you enjoy the pictures.  That was the day’s excitement.
