Tuesday August 27, 2013
I attended another protest demonstration by the Coopera Investors against SEPS.

Hope you enjoy the photos.  That was the day's excitement,   Cheers, Al

We grouped up at San Blas Park.  This church is at the west end.

San Blas Church is at the east end

This poster shows the founder of Coopera with President Correa

Many signs were unfurled stating our grievances.

Jose Montesinos gets interviewed

The crowd slowly gathers

Expats are given a sign in bad English

The crowd takes over Calle Bolivar

We form up and start heading West

It is a fair-sized group

Rob is filming the procession

San Blas makes a nice backdrop

Head west young man and take the crowd with you

We stop at one corner and some traffic sneaks by

Gustavo Quito gets interviewed en route

We gather at the corner of City Hall

City Hall is a beautiful building

Many chants to a Mayor who doesn't care

We have bheld up a lot of traffic

Peter and Sally and the Little Drummer Boy provide percussion

I have snuck into the Provincial Building to get this view

Our group gathers to make noise for the Governor

Traffic is very understanding

They form up at the NE corner of Parque Calderon

Lots of noise to no avail

Oh well, it gets us in the news and keeps the pressure on

OK, I couldn't resist this shot, could I??

The police had the building secured, yet I had walked right by

We continue up Bolivar

Lots of visibility and noise in El Centro

The Little Drummer Boy was a fabulous addition!

We turn left on Benigno Malo

We move in front of Immaculate Conception

This always gets us great exposure

See the cyclist flying at the bottom left after he hit the pole...  He wasn't hurt, just embarrassed

We turn onto Mariscal Sucre

Still making noise, being heard and seen

The group is still intact

We turn at the Justice Building onto Cordero

We pass in front of the Old Cathedral

Incredibly, I just walk right into the Provincial Building again

I have the balcony to myself, like royalty.   Everybody bow please.

Jose Montesinos addresses the throng

The littlest Protester was still blowing his whistle

This is the policemens' view of our peaceful protest

I though the cop on the right was going to object but he didn't

This kid was exercising using these trees near home
