Monday, I didn't do much, but had a lovely chicken supper at Dawn's apartment. Other than that, I have been just watching a lot of the US Open Tennis and the Blue Jays. I did watch my horrible Calgary Stampeders implode again against Edmonton Elks in the Labour Day Classic. Go Elks Go!!! The Elks are #1 in the West and have my support in spite of their awful name.
Tuesday, Don's place was being literally shoveled out by a crew of 4 young men. So far they have filled 2 truckloads and they had apparently yet to touch the bedroom which is piled to at least 4 feet high. It makes us sick to see so much useful stuff simply discarded, because sifting through to save stuff would increase the hourly rate substantially.... I have no words..
I got off my butt and rode the Gio to the Shopper's Drug Mart on 104 St and Jasper to get my chewy +50 vitamins that I like on sale, some Claritin for mild allergies, and even found my 18% protien milk there for a good price....
That allowed me to skip shopping next at Save-On Foods, instead going to Dollarama where I picked up all my sundry groceries and snacks and saved a few bucks!!!
I made a large beef steak stew from 3 cut up Round steaks so I could simmer it in marinated sauce and make it tender. I used a recipe that Cristina uses for the tough, skinny beef she buys in Andalucia. Dawn enjoyed it with me and I have lots left over for another meal...
I peeked out my window and spotted our resident bunny rabbit (or maybe his offspring) across the neighbouring parking lot. He was enjoying the grass and munching away, even ignoring a car leaving the lawyers' office parking lot. It makes me so happy to see the wildlife survive.
Today, I am working on photos again for something to do.
Our great-nephew is improving from his liver transplant in major leaps and bounds so everyone's prayers are helping the little guy. Keep up the prayers folks......♥♥
