Dawn was making a family dinner at her one daughter's place in Sherwood Park today and I was flattered to be invited to join the family and take pictures.
As I drove into Sherwood Park, I saw a lovely pond full of Canada Geese lit up by the western sun. Imagine my shock as I then realized that the idiot driving forgot his camera at home....... What a dummy.... I was not about to embarrass myself by taking photos with my phone, so I had to turn around and drive all the way back home... Sheesh!! And the traffic was already much worse on the return trip.
So the Sherwood Park daughter had her significant other, plus her 2 children, and then we were later joined by another daughter visiting from Whitehorse, Yukon, with her significant other and one of her children. The two sisters had not seen each other for 4 years. So we were 9 people for an extravagant roast beef dinner that was simply amazing...
We played some tile rummy before the meal which caused a lot of rememberances of play with Mom, many moons ago.
The kids amused themselves with video games which meant absolutely zero to any of the older crowd.
They moved the large couch out of the way to take the few family photos in front of the large curtains. The photos below have been sharpened and cropped.
I excused myself to let the family have their time together and came home to watch the Oilers lose a game in overtime to the New Jersey Devils in the shootout... Grrr
Then I flipped to CNN with great interst to watch the Democrats deal the Orange Nutcase a deliberate slap in the head....
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
