The timing for the moonrise and moonset was perfect here, virtually all night, so catching the Worm Moon, or Blood Moon, was a matter of waiting for it to find an open spot in the cloud cover. The colour accuracy is almost perfect, and the shots were taken from our front sidewalk, to the amusement of the neighbours, with the Nikon P1100 that I dragged down here with me.
Today, nothing was happening other than to watch curling of my two favourite teams at the Brier, Gushue and Jacobs (Team Canada) and both did last-minute heroics to go 5-0. They play each other Thursday 1pm EST so I don't want to miss that. Gushue is retiring, so I guess I will pull for Alberta (Team Canada).
There was a baseball game of Team Canada against the Blue Jays on the tube too. There will be a World Baseball tournament soon...
I saw something the size of a fingernail on the spinach patch fence and thought it was a tiny butterfly, but it turns out to be a "Stink Bug" which can give off a noxious odor if you disturb it. I was about 4" away and didn't notice anything.
I read something about Alberta and BC maybe getting off Daylight Saving Time, but that hasn't happened yet apparently.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. That was the day’s excitement.
